____WILD____

_ _ _ _ FIRE, RUNNING _ _ _ _

conflagration always starts

with momentary disregard

casual complacency

fanning that inner flame

Fear ignites, a line is crossed

dangerous as its twin, Desire

what ring of stone could now contain

passion as inflamed as this?

like teenage boys who drive to town

on friday nights, dreaming of danger

burning with that primal lust

that feeds upon the hungriest

intensity itself intensifies

in heat until discovered

the element Surprise detected

alarms now ring like pangs of guilt

panic rises, demons summoned

secrets you failed to contain

forces gather like Homecoming night

as the bonfire surrounds you

the steam and sweat of effort

envelopes you        again

as you rage against your Nature

to sate the dry thirst of a parched soul

and in the ashes of the aftermath

the scorched earth that marks your passing

do you even remember

that single spark that started it all
